Correct visual function requires a group of nutrients that need to be taken in sufficient amounts. The deficiency of some of these nutrients can lead to increased degenerative processes in the retina, such as age-related macular degeneration or other visual disorders. On the other hand the retina and the macula are subject to the oxidative action of UV radiation. Over the course of years, the natural antioxidant defence system can lose its efficiency, increasing the production of harmful free radicals.
A balanced diet must provide the necessary nutrients required by our body. In some situations the requirements of some of these nutrients may be increased. Visual Plus contributes to meeting the supply of specific nutrients to help maintain normal visual function.
Visual Plus contains DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids that are natural components of the retina and other visual structures and that perform basic functions at the ocular level.
Zinc contributes to maintaining vision, to the normal metabolism of vitamin A and to the protection of cells against oxidative damage.
Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids, essential nutrients for the eye. Their protective action is based on their ability to filter luminous rays from sunlight, so that light has less of an impact on the retina.
Vitamin C plays a role in the normal function of the nervous system and the protection of cells against oxidative damage. Vitamin E helps protect the cells from oxidative damage. Vitamins B6 and B12 contribute to normal nervous system function and to energy metabolism. Folic acid and vitamin B12 contribute to the cell division process.
Visual Plus also contains blueberry extract (Vaccinium myrtillus), with anthocyanosides, the fruit of which has antioxidant properties and contributes to visual health.
One capsule a day, with a glass of water or other liquid during breakfast. Do not exceed this dose. Dietary supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle.
