Laboratorios Viñas expands its international presence with new dermatology distribution agreements in Europe

The pharmaceutical company Laboratorios Viñas, specialized in dermatology, pediatrics and general medicine, is strengthening its international presence through the consolidation of new distribution agreements in the European market. The company has established key partnerships in France, Italy and Turkey to market its treatment for molluscum contagiosum, a highly prevalent dermatological condition among children.

To implement this expansion plan, the pharmaceutical company has received support from ACCIÓ, the business competitiveness agency of the Department of Business and Labour of the Government of Catalonia, through its Foreign Trade and Investment Offices in Paris, Milan and Istanbul.

Boosting Key Markets and New Product Launches

In the French market, the company has been working with local distributor Gilbert for the past year and a half, following a relaunch of the medical device. Marketed under the brand name Molusderm, the treatment has reached the second position in sales volume in France, with annual distribution of approximately 70,000 units through the pharmacy channel.

At the same time, Laboratorios Viñas has signed agreements with distributors Sunrise Pharma in Italy and Genoteck in Turkey. In both countries, where the product will be marketed under the name Molusk—the same brand used in Spain—the treatment is currently undergoing registration and packaging adaptation, with a launch expected in the second half of 2026.

In the Spanish market, Laboratorios Viñas leads the category for this treatment, with an 80% market share. Diego Martínez, the company’s International Sales Director, explains that “Molusk has served as a gateway to potentially distributing more products from the dermatology portfolio in the future.” He adds that the company currently has agreements in 15 countries and operates in more than 20 markets, with the goal of maintaining this growth trajectory over the coming years.

Global Outlook and Focus on the Dermatology Business

Exports currently account for approximately 7% of Laboratorios Viñas’ total business, with its main international markets being:

  • China: 30% of international sales.
  • Portugal: 20% of international business.
  • France: 20% of international business.

As part of its global expansion plan, the pharmaceutical company is currently negotiating the introduction of Molusk in Germany and Poland. At the same time, it has begun market research in Brazil to assess the potential for developing its dermatology portfolio in the Latin American region.
